So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We have known each other for such a long time. I still remember when we first met in Maude Herring's third grade class. We became instant friends and our friendship became life long. Although we grew apart after high school, I am thankful that we reconnected several years ago. I only wish now that I had taken more time to visit you during the last couple of years. Joe was one of the best friends I have ever had and I know that he touched many other lives as well with his friendliness and sense of humor. I remember the time in Sunday school that he told me about the issue with his heart due to rheumatic fever but instead of feeling sorry for himself, he made a joke, telling me that he had a "romantic" heart. Joe, there are many friends and family that will miss you but I will hold onto all the great memories we made when we were kids. You certainly didn't have an easy life, but you were always one to look at the bright side. Hopefully, your heavenly reward will make up for all suffering you had to endure during your time on earth. Rest in peace, my friend!

It is heartbreaking for the family to no longer have Joe on this earth. However, find comfort in knowing that he is in heaven and is celebrating in the presence of the Lord and Savior he loved so deeply. We will continue to hold the family in our thoughts and prayers.

I knew "of" Joe growing up. But I didn't get to know him until my mother Rose started going to his bible studies and then with the loss of my brother Jeff and my dad Gordon. Joe came to the hospital when my Dad asked to talk privately with Joe. Joe even as I'll as he was officiated both their services. Because of Joe and his great faith I know for sure my dad is in heaven. So I am believing they are all together now, whole and healthy, telling stories and enjoying beautiful heaven. My deepest sympathies to family and friends.

We will miss our "porch time" with Joe. He was a deeply caring man. He was very generous. We will surely miss him. Prayers for the family.
