Lichty

Frederick E. Lichty, 70, of Meyersdale, died November 8, 2017 at Meyersdale Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Born January 19, 1947 in Meyersdale, the son of Reid E. and Clara E. (Livengood) Lichty. Preceded in death by his parents; and son: Patrick E. Lichty.

Survived by his wife of 48 years, Sue (Bowman) Lichty; daughter: Kathy A. Paul and husband Terry; granddaughter: Natalie Paul; brother: Roger P. Lichty; niece: Traci (Lichty) Henry and husband Joshua; nephews: Joshua Lichty and Corey Lichty and wife, Wendy.

A 1965 graduate of Meyersdale Area High School, and he worked in the cemetery monument industry for 50 years. Fred was a member of Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, where he was a deacon and previously served on the Properties Commission. He enjoyed learning about WWII history, hunting, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his family.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Visitation from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Pete Kaltenbaugh and Pastor Eric Shaulis officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in his name to the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, 9 Beachley St., Meyersdale, PA 15552.
