Bruce H. Brocht, 84, of Garrett, died March 21, 2017 at home. Born August 25, 1932 in Garrett, the son of William L. and Carrie (Weaver) Brocht. Preceded in death by his parents; grandson: Nathan Shuck; and brother: Floyd Sweeney.

Survived by his wife, the former Barbara Ohler; children: Gloria Jean, wife of Bob Shuck, Meyersdale; Joyce, wife of Allan Gindlesperger, Meyersdale; Allen Brocht, Bakersville; Lois Brocht, Berlin; and Buffy, wife of Richard Schurg, Garrett; grandchildren: J.T. Shuck, Christina McCoy, Kortni Schurg, Karter Schurg, and Katie Schurg; great grandchildren: Eric Shuck and Alison Shuck; sister: Helen, wife of Bill Reiss, Oxford, AL. Also survived by special niece, Shelley Glessner; and his two special “Cheese Curl” Buddies, Carter Bennett and Braxton McNelley.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Bruce was a member of Garrett United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Garrett United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dave Klink, Pastor MardiAnn Vincent, and Pastor Jeri Penrod officiating. Interment Highland Cemetery, Garrett.
