Wayne Russell Gerney

Wayne Russell Gerney, 81, of Jennerstown, passed away February 23, 2022 at his home. Born August 2, 1940, in Windber, the son of Steve and Katherine (Klimek) Gerney.
Preceded in death by his parents; and brother: Roger Gerney.

Survived by his wife of 28 years, Sharon (Benna) Gerney; children: Russell Gerney and wife Brenda; Mark Gerney and wife Janis; and Scott Gerney and wife Dawna; grandchildren: Abigail, Liam, Ryan, Evan, Nathan and Kayla; brother: Glenn Gerney and wife Pat and sister-in-law: Joan Gerney.

He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was based in Germany. Wayne was a retired supervisor for UPS.
He was a member of Zion Hoffman Lutheran Church.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Amy, Katie, Bethany, and Rev. Stephanie from Interim Hospice.

At Wayne's request, there will be no public service.
