Mary Virginia (Hetz) Murray

Mary Virginia “Mary Lou” Murray, 87, of Johnson Road, Garrett, went to be with the Lord on December 16, 2020 at her home. Born December 4, 1933 in Boynton, the daughter of Melvin F. and Alice H. (Winebrenner) Hetz.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle Murray; grandson, Joshua; brothers: Harrison, Charles, Melvin Jr., Marvin, and Ken Hetz; sisters: Margaret Sager, Naomi Jane Hotchkiss, and Helen Hetz.

Survived by her children: Rheta Berkey and husband Randy, Dottie Bowser and husband Gary, Mary Ann Murray, Brenda Murray, and Merle Michael Murray; grandchildren: David Topper, Jake Topper, Carrie Shaffer, Kimmy Wilburn, Malachi Murray, Nickolas Murray, and Brodrick Murray; great grandchildren: James Andrew Topper, Matthew Topper, Gavin Topper, Lilah Topper, Harley Shaffer, Kylie Wilburn, Kaley Wilburn, Darius Carey, and Caden Murray. Also survived by siblings: Dorothy Krause, Marshall Hetz, and Raymond Hetz.

She was a member of Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church. She enjoyed making braided rugs, and loved her bluegrass music.

A private service was held for the family, Pastor Randy Haulk officiated. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
