Lawrence “Larry” Earl Ringler, Jr., 75, of Meyersdale, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Siemons Lakeview Manor. Born October 17, 1942 in Meyersdale, he was the eldest child of Lawrence “Pode” E. Ringler Sr. and Sarah H. (Meyer) Ringler.
Larry was a 1960 graduate of Meyersdale Area High School. On December 22, 1973 he married the love of his life, the late Brenda C. (Deal) Ringler. Lawrence served as a Corporal in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and Korean DMZ Conflicts, as a long range nuclear missile technician. He was a 50 year member of the Meyersdale Volunteer Fire Department, a 47 year member of Meyersdale Lodge No 1951, BPOE, and a member of the Laurel Highlands Choral. Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling, singing, hunting, and fishing.
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, the former Brenda Deal; oldest son: Craig M. Ringler.
Survived by his son: Christian M. Ringler and wife Brandy, Meyersdale; sisters: Sarah Ringler and Linda Ringler, Meyersdale; nephew: Steven Ringler and wife Rachael; great nephew: Jarod Ringler; great niece: Sydney Ringler; and numerous other relatives.
Friends will be received from 11 until time of funeral service at noon on Saturday, May 12, at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale, with Pastor Eric Shaulis officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Meyersdale Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 187, Meyersdale, PA 15552.
