Frank Edward Bittner, 89, of Meyersdale, died August 7, 2019 at MeadowView Nursing Center, Berlin. Born July 28, 1930 in Boynton, the son of Calvin and Cora (Stanton) Bittner.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Ray Jones and Everett "Boots" Bittner; sisters: Sylina Holler, Martha "Molly" Spiker, and Ethel Brown.
Survived by his wife of 68 years, Cecilia (Schnelzer) Bittner; daughter: Patricia "Patty" Ringler and husband Barry; Meyersdale; grandchildren: Frankie J. Ryan and wife Melynie; Elizabeth Ringler Jayanthan and husband Prem; great grandchildren: Derrick Ryan, Katie Scarlett Ryan, Zachary Ryan; great great grandson: Oliver James "Ollie" Ryan. Also survived by special niece and nephew: Anna and Dave Bittner and numerous nieces and nephews.
Member of SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale and the Laborers Union Local 419.
"Pap" was a great outdoorsmen and expert marksman. He loved his dogs, and enjoyed fox and raccoon hunting, and at one time was a breeder of foxhounds. "Pap" had a heart of gold and loved his family greatly.
At Frank's request, there will be no viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
