Cloyd "Junior" Hoover Jr.

Cloyd William Merrill “Junior” Hoover Jr., 78, of Garrett, died February 23, 2019 at home. Born July 14, 1940 in Salisbury, the son of Cloyd M. Sr. and Hazel M. (Christner) Hoover.

Preceded in death by his parents; and infant brother, Roy.

Survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Bennett L. Sanner; children: Patrick E. Hoover Sr., Garrett; David W. (Chris) Hoover, Garrett; Lynda D. Hoover, Greenwood, DE; Jeff A. (Beth) Hoover, Meyersdale; grandchildren: Patrick E. Hoover Jr., Ohio; Dyanna L. Miller, Garrett; Geread A. Hoover, Meyersdale; Kyle W. Hoover, Meyersdale; Justin M. Hoover, Meyersdale; Ty A. Hoover, Meyersdale; Cassandra Judy, Meyersdale; SSG Kenneth (Mildred) Judy, Colorado; great grandchildren: Gavon, McKenna, Kahlyn, Maddox, Kayden, Lexi, Lincoln, and Liberty; and sister: Ardith M. (Kenneth) Knopsnyder, Markleton.

He retired from New Enterprise Stone and Lime as a heavy equipment operator. Junior enjoyed riding his Harley, transporting the Amish, playing checkers, and operating heavy equipment.

Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church, where the service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor Randy Haulk. Interment Center Church Cemetery, Garrett.

Memorial contributions may be given to Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church or Heartland Hospice.
