Betty K. (Smearman) Patsy

Betty K. (Smearman) Patsy, 97, of LaVale, Md and Meyersdale, Pa, died September 5, 2020 at The Heritage in Somerset, Pa. Born May 4, 1923 in Meyersdale, the daughter of Harry and Gertrude(Bowman) Smearman.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband James Patsy, and brothers Harry, Paul, Lloyd, and Floyd Smearman.

Survived by her son: David Coughenour, of Dayton, OH; grandson: David Coughenour, Jr. and wife Kim of Wilmington, DE; three great grandsons: Austin, Dillon, Max; and a brother Homer and wife Jane of Struthers, OH. She is also survived by her friend of 75 years, Millie McCormick, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH.

Betty was of the Brethren faith and was a member of the Brethren Church in Berlin, PA.
She worked at Meyersdale Manufacturing and later as a housewife. Betty enjoyed crocheting, watching soap operas, and especially shopping. She was also known for her love of dogs.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2020 at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale, with Pastor Pete Kaltenbaugh officiating. Interment Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, Maryland.
