Betty Jean (Donaldson) Kemp, 88, of Meyersdale, was ushered into Heaven by Jesus on January 30, 2018. She was born July 9, 1929 in Martinsburg, W.Va, the daughter of Charles L. and Charm (Hayes) Donaldson. Preceded in death by her parents; infant son: Richard Charles Haer; brothers: Leroy Donaldson, Marvin Donaldson, Harold “Popeye” Donaldson and Bob Donaldson; close sister-in-law: Naomi Donaldson; and 2 infant sisters.
Survived by her children: Suzanne Brant and husband Bob, Garrett; Tom Haer and special friend Sue, Garrett; Don Haer and wife Kathy, Columbus, OH; Dale “Chuck” Haer and wife, Lynn, Indianapolis, IN; and Sally Holt and husband Nathan, Mansfield, TX; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Shirley Donaldson and Barbara Ann Donaldson; best friend: Shirley Caton; and caregiver and friend: Lisa Schardt.
She retired from Meyersdale Manufacturing Company and was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. Betty began taking organ lessons at the age of 65.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Visitation from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Friday, at Garrett United Methodist Church, with Pastor Dave Klink and Pastor Mardiann Vincent officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
