Robert E. “Bob” Hollada, 88, of Fort Hill, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Born July 26, 1928 in Fort Hill, the son of the late Milton and Olive (King) Hollada. He was raised in Fort Hill and resided in Newton Falls, Ohio for over 30 years with his beloved wife, Nancy. He is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Nancy E. (Young) Hollada; sisters: Beulah Shumaker Showalter, Leota Hollada, Lola “Toby” Showalter, Wanda Kretchman; brothers: Carl “Ken” Hollada, Charles “Zeke” Hollada, Edgar “Eck” Hollada, Roland “Don” Hollada, and Walter Hollada.
Survived by his daughter: Susan and husband Dale Radtka Jr., Louisville, OH ; son: Robert N. “Rob” Hollada, Southington, OH; and his faithful dog, Lucky.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman and he volunteered for the Salisbury Fire Auxiliary. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, and attending numerous sporting events. He was always supportive of his family and friends and seemed like he could fix anything that needed fixed. He had many jobs through the years, which included logging, bus driver, road construction, and as a repairman in the cushion room for General Motors, Lordstown, from which he retired in 1993, after 28 years.
Dad, hopefully there is a big lawn in heaven that you can help take care of, because we all know how much you loved mowing.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, with Rev. Daniel Whitacre officiating. Interment Maple Glen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given in his name to the Maple Glen Church of the Brethren or Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.
