Reckner

            Violet L. Reckner, 87, of Meyersdale, passed away July 3, 2014 at Meyersdale Medical Center. Born Sept. 25, 1926 in Garrett, the daughter of William H. and Beula L. (Donahue) Gray. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce Reckner; and sisters: Betty L. Gray and Patricia A. Klink.

Survived by her sisters: Emma M. Pletcher, and Mary Lou Ohler, both of Meyersdale; brother: William H. Gray and wife Rita, Wildwood, Florida.

Although she didn’t have children of her own, she was a second mother to numerous nieces and nephews. She was Aunt Vi to the 1st generation and Aunt VeVe to the 2nd and 3rd generations. Violet loved bowling and was on a league for many years, she also loved sewing and playing bingo. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Meyersdale, where she helped to make quilts.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Viewing from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Frank E. Harpster III officiating. Interment Fritz Cemetery.
