Donley

Samuel Donley, 79, of Meyersdale, died March 18, 2017 at home. Born June 19, 1937 in Cairnbrook, the son of Stephen J. and Anna M. (Bero) Donley. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, the former Twila Jean (Petenbrink) Donley; infant son: David John; infant grandchild: Angel Knox; sister: Mary Ann Klonicke; and brother-in-law: Keith Petenbrink.

Survived by his children: Michael Donley and wife Debra; Beverly Knox and husband Todd; Dianne Knox and husband Stacy; and Paula Most and husband David; grandchildren: Mara Van Buren, Eric, Matthew, and Steven Knox, Yeardley Burns, John, Joseph, and Kathryn Most, Sarah, Heather, Adam and Seth Knox; great grandchildren: Samuel Garno, Anthony Van Buren III, and Alexander Van Buren; brothers: Jerome Donley and wife Irene, and Donald Donley and wife Evelyn; sister-in-law: Linda Shumaker; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was a faithful member of SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale. Sam was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and neighbor. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale, with Rev. Stephen Shin OFM Cap. Committal SS. Philip and James Cemetery.
