Ruth Elaine (Snyder) Makay, 79, of Garrett, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. Born October 1, 1946 in Meyersdale, the daughter of Charles Leroy Donaldson and Mary Catherine (Snyder) Donaldson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steve R. Makay; sons: Paul J. and Steven Makay and great granddaughter, Addalynn Makay.
Survived by her son, Charles "Ike" Makay and Christie (Rosenberger); Grandchildren: Andrew Makay and wife Gwendolyn, Aaron Makay, and Carly Makay. Ruth loved watching wrestling and NASCAR racing, spending time with her family, visiting her friends, and sitting on her porch with her dog Rocky and her late companion dog Loki.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, at Price Funeral Service, Inc., Meyersdale, where funeral service will begin at 7 p.m. following visitation.
