Ruth Elaine Hersch

Ruth Elaine Hersch, age 85, of Meyersdale, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 16, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents: James T. Hoffmeyer and Ruth Naomi Hoffmeyer; her brother James T. Hoffmeyer; her sister Mary Anne Hoffmeyer; her daughter Kimberly Ann Payne; an infant son; and her great grandson, Isaiah Sanner. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Nevin Ray Hersch, and her children: Patricia Blanchard (Thomas), Melissa Sanner (Samuel), Nevin W. Hersch (Christina); 22 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Ruth was a graduate of Meyersdale High School (1956) and Grace College (1960) with a degree in Elementary Education. She married Nevin Ray Hersch of Meyersdale in 1960. Ruth loved teaching children about the Bible and especially loved to tell missionary stories. She worked on the family farm alongside her husband for most of her life.

Family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at Price Funeral Service, Inc., Meyersdale, where a service will be conducted at 11 a.m. following visitation, with Pastor Mike Faidley officiating. Interment Grace Cemetery at White Oak.
