Dr. Paul R. Woolslayer, 90, of Meyersdale, died November 8, 2024 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown.
Born October 19, 1934 in Plum Borough, the son of Paul and Elsie (Rosenberger) Woolslayer. Preceded in death by his parents; and sister: Beverly Brenner.

Survived by his loving family: wife of 63 years: Helen (Glessner) Woolslayer; children: Kelley (Bill) Ashton, Bethel Park; Bradley (Sara) Woolslayer, Oakland, Md.; Kurt (Wein) Woolslayer, Meyersdale; Dr. Lisa (George) DeMers, York; Ryan Woolslayer, Cumberland, Md.; grandchildren: Mason (Megan) DeMers, Philadelphia; William Ashton, Bethel Park; Nathan (Kristen) Ashton, Mt. Lebanon; Jessica Ashton, Bethel Park; Trisha (Randy) Wilson, Tyrone; Emily Ashton, Bethel Park; Brenden Woolslayer, Oakland, Md.; Kellisa (Tyler) McBride, Penn Hills; Helena (Brian) Karlinski, Buffalo, NY; Jason Isaac, OH; and Kelsey Steinringer, Kitzmiller, Md.; great grandchildren: Theo Ashton, Asher Wilson, Mia and Cooper Karlinski and Isabella Steinringer.

A graduate of Penn State University and Hahneman Medical School. Following graduation and an internship at Conemaugh, he served in the public health service, where he was stationed in Galveston, Texas, and in Hawaii, and on the USS Pathfinder.
He was a family physician from 1962 until his retirement in 1990, where he delivered numerous babies in Meyersdale. He served as the chief of staff and medical director at Somerset State Hospital.

Dr. Woolslayer was a member of: the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren; the Meyersdale Public Library Board; Meyersdale Rotary; Meyersdale Lions Club; and the Meyersdale, Berlin and Springs Historical Societies.
He enjoyed reading, watching cinemas, being outdoors, and hunting and trapping in his younger years.

Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, where the funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Pastor Eric Shaulis officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
