Nellie Bowman (Baker) Weller

Nellie Bowman (Baker) Weller, 92, of Mercersburg, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026 in Chambersburg, PA.

Born September 21, 1933 in Meyersdale, PA, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret Tressler Bowman.

Nellie is survived by two sons, Dennis (Joyce) Baker, Allen “Chip” (Karen) Baker, a daughter, Robyn Baker Showalter, and grandchildren: Michael (Beth) Baker, Andrea Baker, Mark (Leigh) Baker, Melissa (Brian) Pappalardi, Joe (Martha) Showalter and Kelly (Matt) Casey. Surviving great-grandchildren: Brooke (Anthony) Panuccio, Brady Baker, Brennan Baker, Jack Wimer, Stella Baker, Katelyn Pappalardi, Hannah Pappalardi, Megan Showalter, Nathan Showalter, Emma Casey and Alexis Casey. She is also survived by step-children, Janice (Patrick) Burns, Edward (Linda) Weller, Darlene (Bill) Landis and their families.

Nellie was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Baker of Garrett, PA, her second husband Nelson Weller, of Mercersburg, PA, her sister Anna Lohr and her son-in-law Rick Showalter. Her sister, Edna Bowman, passed away on April 18, 2026.

Nellie was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who liked to knit and crochet. She enjoyed reading, going out to eat and shopping. She always looked forward to a hot cup of coffee. Despite her age, she was young at heart.

A memorial service for both Nellie and Edna will be held at Price Funeral Home in Meyersdale, PA on Saturday, June 27 at 1:00 pm with visitation beginning at noon. Following the memorial, a graveside service will be held at Highland Cemetery in Garrett, PA.
