Mary Jane (Bittner) Merrbach, 92, of Meyersdale, died November 28, 2020 at Meyersdale Healthcare and Rehabilitation. Born May 1, 1928 in Meyersdale, the daughter of Cyrus P. and Lela M. (Caton) Bittner.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Austin J.Merrbach; brothers: William and Robert Bittner; nephew: Richard Bittner; and son-in-law: Wayne Metz.

Survived by her daughter: Brenda Metz, of Sharpsburg, Md.; granddaughters: Susan Franceschina and husband David, of Hagerstown, Md. and Michelle Metz, of Sharpsburg, Md.; great granddaughters: Abby, Katie, and Jackie Franceschina.

Also survived by sister-in-law: Janet Bittner; nephew: Paul Bittner and wife Leeza, of Meyersdale and their daughter Paula of Jacksonville, FL; Kathy Bittner, the widow of her nephew Richard, of Odenton, Md.

She was a lifelong member of Greenville Lutheran Church, Meyersdale, where she was a member of the choir, and a former member of the Friendship Grange. She worked at the Meyersdale and Salisbury clothing factories until her retirement.

A private graveside service will be held for the family at Greenville Union Cemetery, with Rev. Tyler Grahm officiating. Memorial contributions may be given in her name to St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
