John Simeon Metrinko, 71, of Meyersdale, died May 27, 2022 at his home. 
Born July 15, 1950 in Meyersdale the son of the late Simeon "Sim" and Helen (Berkley) Metrinko.  Also preceded in death by his granddaughter: Holly Marie Metrinko.

Survived by his wife, M. Christine (Rigal) Metrinko; sons: Matthew Simeon Metrinko and wife Grace; and Michael Stephan Metrinko and wife Alicia. 

He was at 1968 graduate from Meyersdale Area High School and a 1972 graduate from Grove City College. John taught 34 years collectively but he taught Biology I & II, Physics, Chemistry and Astronomy over his 29 year career in Okeechobee, Florida. He received "Teacher of the Year" in 1995 at Okeechobee Senior High School. He enjoyed being the camera man for the Varsity and Junior Varsity football teams for 20 years, as well as filming and coaching community youth football and baseball games. 

John was first and foremost a family man. His life revolved around his wife and 2 sons, but, by extension, he loved teaching and working with the students he taught and other youngsters in the community. 

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, at Price Funeral Service, Inc., Meyersdale, where funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, with Peg Marshall, celebrant officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
