James "Doc" Domnick DiFebo, 76, of Meyersdale, died October 15, 2023 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born February 14, 1947 in Rockwood, the son of the late Victor and Josephine M. (Finocchio) DiFebo.
Survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy (Austin) DiFebo; children: Bryan DiFebo and wife Rebecca, Somerset; and Janine (DiFebo) Sechler and husband Mark, Meyersdale; grandchildren: Aiden, Owen, Abigail, and Emma DiFebo, and Brycen, Ryan, and Valerie Sechler; sister: Rosalie L. DiFebo and her daughter Santa.
"Doc" was a graduate of West Virginia University where he received his doctorate of education and taught college at York College, NY. He retired from Berlin Brothersvalley School District, where he was a history teacher for over 20 years. He was a member of SS. Philip & James Catholic Church, Meyersdale, where he sang in the choir for many years. Also a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was a Grand Knight. A committee member for the Meyersdale Korean and Vietnam War memorial. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren in their sports and extracurricular activities.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Rev. Stephen Shin OFM Cap. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
