Harry Milton Beal, 90, of Meyersdale, died January 26, 2021 at The Patriot, Somerset. Born August 16, 1930 in Meyersdale, the son of Clarence and Cora (Carothers) Beal.
Preceded in death by parents; wife of 67 years, Marjorie Jane (Bowman) Beal; sons: Wayne and Mark L. Beal; brothers: William Clarence Franklin Perry Beal and Bruce S. Beal.

Survived by sons: Mack (Kay) Beal and Merle (Cindy) Beal; daughter-in-law: Melissa Beal; grandchildren: Ron Davis, Travis Beal, Ashleigh Beal, Matthew Beal, and Nicole Hartline; 9 great grandchildren: Bridgette, Bayleigh, Aubreigh, Mason, Danielle, Maddie, Bryce, Layneigh, Lillie; brother: Fritz (Kathy) Beal; and sister: Mary Sechler.

1st Class Petty Officer United States Navy, entered the United States Navy in 1948 as a Gunner's Mate aboard the Shennodoah, Tarawa. In 1955, he became part of the underwater demolition team 21 and 22. In 1962, he became plank owner of Seal Team 2. He was a SEAL instructor and his specialty was in underwater demolition and he retired in 1968

Harry retired in 1990, after 20 years, from PennDot. He was a member of Hostetler Church of the Brethren, Meyersdale.
He enjoyed deer hunting and biking on the Greater Allegheny Passage. Harry was known for his stories and jokes that he told at Donges Drive-In and around town. He also enjoyed educating children at the area schools about his military experience.

The family invites the public to pay their respects to Mr. Harry Beal from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Due to COVID-19, the family will not be in attendance during this period, but wishes to give anyone the opportunity to pay their respects.
A private funeral service will be held on Friday at Hostetler Church of the Brethren, with Rev. Irvin Ernst officiating. Interment Hostetler Church Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Somerset County Honor Guard.
