Genevieve Louriese (Shockey) Crissinger, 95, of Meyersdale, passed away peacefully January 18, 2022 at Meyersdale Healthcare and Rehabilitation, where she was a long-time resident.
Born July 21, 1926 in Glady, West Virginia, the daughter of Lewis and Naomi (Mankamyer) Shockey.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Henry L. Crissinger Jr.; daughter: Louriese Murbach; and brothers: Jimmy and Eddie Shockey.
She is survived by children: Arlene Feeney and husband Bob; Hope Crissinger; Julaine Emerick and husband Dave; David L. Crissinger and wife, Debbie; 12 grandchildren: Michelle Lishia, Tracy Sanders, Sonja Garlitz, Tyanna Holbrook, Jeremy Hunter, Ember Lyons, David Crissinger Jr., Neil Blank, Josh Grun, Tiffany Miller, Heather Blank and Lauren Crissinger; 14 great grandchildren. Also survived by her brothers: Junior and Dale Shockey; and sister: Audrey Shockey.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Kennells Mills, and she also was a volunteer at Meyersdale Hospital
Genevieve enjoyed playing her guitar, singing and yodeling. She had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh. She will be greatly missed.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, January 22, at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale, where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 23, with Rev. Doug Gnagey officiating. Interment St. John (Temple) Cemetery.
