Gary C. Boyce, 78, of Meyersdale, died September 14, 2020 at UPMC Somerset. He was born July 12, 1942, in Meyersdale, the son of Cecil Clayton and Wauneta Lucille (Shuck) Boyce.
Preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Nancy Anne (Swauger) Boyce.
Survived by sons: Scott Boyce and wife Rana; Michael Boyce and wife Linda; David Boyce and wife Becky; grandchildren: Karisa White and husband Adam, Laura Boyce, and Leah Boyce; TSgt. Terry Snyder USAF and Crystal Snyder; great grandchildren: Bristol White and Bryce White; brothers: Larry Boyce and wife Patti; Timmy Boyce and wife Becky; Ronald Boyce and wife Tina; sisters: Pam Deem, Sharon Starkey and husband Gary, Marlene Henry and husband Joe, and Lori Walters. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Member of Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church, where he was a deacon, usher, AWANA teacher, and sang in the choir. He was one of founding members of Maple City Archers. Gary loved bluegrass music and playing his banjo in many bluegrass bands. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, reading his Bible, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church and from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Pastor Randy Haulk officiating. Interment St. John (Temple) Cemetery.
