Gary Firle Baer

Gary F. Baer, 82, of Meyersdale, went to be with the Lord and family and friends who have passed, on March 7, 2022 at Goodwill Retirement Community, Grantsville, Md, after a lengthy chronic illness. Born October 10, 1939 in Meyersdale, the son of Theodore R. and Mildred (Weiland) Baer. Preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister; and 2 brothers.

Survived by his wife, of 65+ years Elsie (Weimer) Baer; 4 adult children: Rhonda, Robin, Roxanne, and Gary; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 2 sisters.

He was a mechanic who worked for Delta Airlines. After promising his parents, Ted and Millie Baer, his goal was to return to Meyersdale to make it a better place for all. Known to all as a kind and generous person, and he was always willing to help. Many thanks and gratitude to Goodwill Nursing Home where he received excellent care.

Per family request, there will be no viewing or services held.

Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Cambria County Humane Society in Gary's memory and also our 4 legged child Buddy, who we all missed, and passed away in March 2021.
