Esther G. (Winters) Fike

Esther Grace Fike, 96, of Meyersdale, died December 8, 2019 at Goodwill Retirement Community, Grantsville, Maryland. Born in Summit Twp., on April 6, 1923, the daughter of George William and Ella Myrtle (Brown) Winters.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Homer J. Fike; daughter-in-law: Linda Fike; brother: George Winters Jr.; sisters: Dorothy Mimna, and Julia Mardelle Fletcher; brother –in-law and sister-in-law: Charles E. and Olive Durr.

Survived by her children: Homer E. Fike, Meyersdale; Shirley Marshall, Bowie, MD; Sondra Yoder and husband Barry, Meyersdale; and Diane Barron and husband Dean, Somerset; grandchildren: Kara Kroll, Matthew Fike, Lee and Homer J. Littlejohn, Dean Yoder, Heather Bowlin and Holly Goforth; great grandchildren: Taylor Kroll, Brittany Moore, Ashleigh Littlejohn, Alicia Yoder, and Lillian and Dylan Goforth.

She was the oldest member of the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, where she participated in many organizations.

Esther and her husband Homer visited all 50 states. She truly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a wonderful seamstress who enjoyed sewing.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Pete Kaltenbaugh officiating. Inurnment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
