Dorothy J. (Zimmerman) Sechler

Dorothy Jane “Dot” Sechler, 95, of Meyersdale, died Saturday January 9, 2021 at Meyersdale Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Born January 8, 1926 in Salisbury, the daughter of Pius and Velma (Whisler) Zimmerman.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester Eugene Sechler; two brothers: Paul and William Zimmerman; and daughter-in-law: Diane Sechler.

She is survived by her daughter: Debra (Ken) Hoover; son: Barry “Butch” Sechler; grandchildren: Jodi (Troy) Lohr, Josh (Melissa) Hoover, Crystal (Brian) McKenzie, and Ashley (Dave) Sube; as well as 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings: Don Zimmerman and Marcella Kimble.
Mrs. Sechler and her husband owned Sechler Music Store in Meyersdale for 35 years. She also worked at the Meyersdale Shirt Factory.

“Dot” was a member of the Meyersdale Moose and attended Amity United Church of Christ. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, bingo, bowling, playing cards, and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Funeral service and interment will be private.
