David Eugene "Dave" Hay, 59, of Garrett, passed away on Thursday, August
22, 2024 at Windber Hospice, surrounded by his family after a difficult battle with cancer.
Born December 22, 1964 in Meyersdale, he was the son of Shirley Hay and the late John
Hay. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim; father-in-law James Rosenberger;
brother-in-law: Kevin Cox; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

David was a 1982 graduate of Meyersdale High School. He was employed by the State
of Maryland as a Correctional Officer at NBCI since 2008. He loved camping, hunting,
hiking the Smokey Mountains, going on cruises, and riding his Harley Davidson. Above
all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. Dave loved to make people smile
with his ornery ways especially, with family and co-workers. He always had a smile on
his face. He will be greatly missed by so many.

Survived by his wife of 36 years, Brenda (Rosenberger) Hay; his son, Joshua Hay; sister,
Cindy Cox; brother, Jon (Kris) Hay; sister-in-law, Chris (Tom) Yoder; brother-in-law,
Jamie; mother-in-law, Betty and friend Gerry; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Price Funeral Service Inc. 325 Main Street Meyersdale, where a funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery, Garrett.
