Clara Yacynych, 98, of Garrett, died November 8, 2021 at UPMC Somerset Hospital. Born March 2, 1923 in Rostov, Russia, the daughter of Timothy and Maria (Tselih) Churkin.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 63 years, John Yacynych; and brothers: Ivan Timofeovitch Churkin and Michael Timofeovitch Churkin.

She is survived by her son: Alexander Yacynych married to the former Marilyn Ritzman, Garrett; grandchildren: Lisa M. Yacynych, Alexander J. Yacynych, and Tanya L. Stock; great grandchildren: John A. Yacynych, Michael R. Yacynych, Alexis M. Yacynych, and Miranda A. Yacynych.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Johnstown.

Viewing will be held from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday at Price Funeral Service, Inc., Meyersdale. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 606 Maple Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15901, Father James Davidson officiating. Committal service will be held at Grandview Mausoleum.
