Charles T. "Charley" McKenzie, 90, of Meyersdale, went to his heavenly home on May 1, 2025, a week before his 91st birthday.

Born May 8, 1934 in Meyersdale, the son of Thomas and Sarah (Hartle) McKenzie. He is reunited with his parents; wife, Dixie Lee (Grove) McKenzie; brother, James C. Hartle; and sister, Mary Agnes Bolden.

Charley survives by his loving family: daughter, Kimberly McKenzie; granddaughter, Tara DeVore and husband Ethan; great grandchildren, Ava and Maddox DeVore, all Frostburg, Md. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was a United States Army veteran. Throughout his life, Charley worked for 10 years at the McKenzie Co., 5 years at the ACME, and 35 years at Citizen's National Bank, in Meyersdale. Following his retirement from the bank, he worked part time at Price Funeral Home for 10 years. He served as past president of the Meyersdale Centennial Association, and was a member of the Meyersdale Lions Club, Jaycees, and Somerset Co. Banker's Association. Charley was a 60 year member of BPOE 1951, Meyersdale.
Everyone who knew Charley knew that he had a love of traveling to Disney World, golfing, cheering on his Oakland Raiders football team, and drinking a beer at the Elks with his friends.

The family would like to thank his second family at the Meyersdale Elks, the Mountain City Rehab in Frostburg, Md and UPMC Western Maryland for their special care of him.

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Price Funeral Service, Inc., Meyersdale, where an Elks memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Father Dennis Kurdziel officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to BPOE 1951, 327 Dale St., Meyersdale, PA 15552.
