Alma "Sparkie" (Walter) Batrus Wierman, Salisbury, formerly of Altoona, went home to be with Jesus on August 31, 2024. Born October 31, 1931 to James and Mildred (Gorman) Walter. Preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; son: James Batrus; daughter-in-law: Sharon Batrus; first husband: Thomas A. Batrus; and second husband: Dale C. Wierman.

Alma is survived by her daughters: Karen Mullen, Marathon, FL; and Roberta (Dan) Parisi, Salisbury PA; grandchildren: Candy (Alfie) Holliday, Altoona PA; Autumn (Thomas) Stephens, Orlando, FL; Tom (Julia) Parisi, Arlington, VA; Danny (Emily) Parisi, Meyersdale, PA; and Christine Parisi, Salisbury, PA; Nine great grandchildren: Kayla, Gabrielle, Rebecca, Gemma, Vince, Margo, Rocco, Hayden and Leo; Four beloved nieces: Sandy, Cindy, Jan and Susan.

Alma, better known as "Sparkie," worked in the restaurant business most of her life as a waitress. After retirement, she became a housekeeper for a few special friends. She even owned and operated her own restaurant for some time. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, Chinese checkers and being outdoors. We will miss her dearly but believe wholeheartedly that Mom is home in heaven. Family will receive friends on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale, followed by a brief funeral service beginning at 4 p.m. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park in Bellwood, PA.
