Phyllis Ann Howsare went home to heaven on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Meyersdale Medical Center where she passed away peacefully. Born November 9, 1936 in Meyersdale, the daughter and only child of Earl and Irene Miller. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul in 2017 and a stillborn son. Also preceded in death by special family friends, Herb and Sue Krygsman. She is survived by her children, Denny Howsare and wife Judy of Meyersdale, Christine Crutchley of Jefferson, Maryland and Rodney Howsare of Meyersdale and special friend Tracy Henry; grandchildren Breiann Yoder and husband Randy of Meyersdale, Paul “Buddy” Howsare and wife Erin of Quecreek, Chalyce Boyer and husband Austin of Meyersdale, and Connor and Autumn Crutchley of Jefferson, Maryland; great grandchildren Xander Howsare and Cole Yoder.
She was a previous employee of Meyersdale Manufacturing, co-owned and operated Paul’s Tavern, and retired from Salisbury Sportswear. She was a kind and loving woman and longtime member of Summit Mills Grace Brethren Church, where she enjoyed attending all services and volunteering for numerous activities. Paul and Phyllis were members of the Airstream Travel Association and spent had many special adventures traveling across the United States. She loved spending time with her family, including numerous beach vacations and watching her great grandsons play ball. She enjoyed going to exercise class with her friends and was a former member of the Greasy Spoons. She had a soft spot in her heart for all animals, especially her dog and best friend, Pierre.
A celebration of her life will be held at Summit Mills Grace Brethren Church Saturday, October 27, 2018, where friends will be received at 10:00am and service will be conducted at 11:00am, Pastor Andy Gannon officiating. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Summit Mills Grace Brethren Church in her name. Arrangements by Price Funeral Service, Inc., Meyersdale.
