Marie A. (Housel) Mathers, 83, of Meyersdale, went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2018 at Meyersdale Medical Center. Born April 15, 1934 in Shaw Mines, the daughter of the late Peter F. and Sadie Marie (Christner) Housel. In addition to her parents; she is preceded in death by her husband, Norton Mathers; sisters: Betty Gnagey and Doris Oester.

She is survived by her siblings: Eleanor Cober, Fogletown; Peter Housel Jr. and wife Gloria Ann, Meyersdale; Verna Niedermeyer and husband Joseph, Bethel Park, PA; Anna Hamilton and husband Lloyd, Rex, GA; Clyde Housel and wife Terry, Lovettsville, VA; and friends: Tracy Sheffield, Carol Kyle, Kayla Robertson and Nicole Eberly. She was a member of the Main Street Brethren Church. Marie worked at Clapper’s Table Factory and then moved to New Jersey, where she worked for the Glass Factory. Upon her retirement, she moved back to her hometown of Meyersdale.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Rev. David Klink officiating. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given in her name to the Meyersdale Medical Center.
