Gail E. Hornig, 56, of Meyersdale, died October 5, 2017 at home. Born June 19, 1961 in Meyersdale, the daughter of the late John J. “Jake” Hornig, and Dawn (Schrock) Hornig, of Meyersdale.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sister: Barb Sparr and husband Leroy; brother: John Hornig and wife Sue; nieces: Sandi Byerly and husband Craig, Chelsea Hoover, Chloe Thomas and husband Nathan; great nephew: Preston DeVoe; and special friend: Debbie Carpellotti. She was a stock buyer for B.N.Y Mellon, Pittsburgh, and a production manager for Filmet Professional Imaging. Gail won an award from the West Mifflin Women’s Garden Club. She volunteered at the Meyersdale Food Pantry, the Meyersdale Community Players, and for various fundraisers. She loved being around people and animals, especially her dogs, Walter and Jackie.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Visitation also from noon until funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Pete Kaltenbaugh officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
