Elizabeth A. (Donges) Buterbaugh

Elizabeth Annie Buterbaugh, 88, of Meyersdale, died peacefully July 16, 2019 at her home. Born April 4, 1931 in Meyersdale, the daughter of Steward S. and Ethel Marie (Phillippi) Donges. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald R. Buterbaugh; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.

Survived by her children: Gregory Buterbaugh married to Cindy (Hardman) Buterbaugh, Meyersdale; Donald Keith Buterbaugh and wife Sarah (Stewart) Buterbaugh, Palisades, NY; Tamara Lynn (Buterbaugh) Hillegas married to Richard Scott Hillegas, Butler; and Alicia Ann (Buterbaugh) Moser, married to Jeffrey Alan Moser, Meyersdale; grandchildren: Ryan Buterbaugh married to Sara (Brant) Buterbaugh, Nicholas Buterbaugh married to Amy (Fullerton) Buterbaugh; Cassie (Buterbaugh) Arnold married to Doug Arnold; Kelsey Elizabeth Buterbaugh; Christopher Stewart Buterbaugh; Kurtis Adam Hillegas married to Tara (Sorce) Hillegas; Weston Scott Hillegas married to Stephanie (Romanias) Hillegas; Derek Edward Hillegas; Rachelle Leigh (Moser) Linares married to Anthony Linares; Corinne Erin (Moser) Schoenherr married to David James Schoenherr; and Matthew Austin Moser; 10 great grandchildren; siblings: Inez Elaine (Donges) Bontrager, Greta Yvonne (Donges) Moore, Mildred Eileen (Donges) Linnell, Gayle Colleen (Donges) Stumpf, William Neil Donges, and Emily Dolores (Donges) Marks.

After attending college, she worked as a legal secretary with Senator Ted Stevens in Alaska and later ran a private daycare for 20 years. She loved traveling, especially to Japan, Italy and NYC, music, playing piano, knitting, crafts, making Christmas ornaments, decorating, and cleaning up after earthquakes.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Deer Valley YMCA, Nature Center, 254 Deer Valley Dr. (Mt. Davis Rd.), Fort Hill, PA 15540.
