Betty Elaine (Reiber) McKenzie

Betty Elaine (Reiber) McKenzie, loving wife and mother, 94, of Ord St., Salisbury passed in peace on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at home. She was born July 2, 1924 in Meyersdale, the daughter of Dalton George and Stella Ruth (Baer) Reiber. She was preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life, Henry Sadrus McKenzie (6/2/1917 to 11/22/1984); and siblings: Dalton, William, Margaret, Charles, Lois, and Orion; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline; granddaughter, Heather; and great grandson, Alex.

She is survived by her ten children: Ronald Allen, William Henry, Mark Edward, Charles Bruce, John Joseph, Timothy Wayne, Ruth Elaine Berkley, Dr. Harry James, Wendy Marie LaFramboise, and Rebecca Christine Taylor; as well as her twenty eight grandchildren, forty seven great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren.

Betty was a loving wife and mother to all, not just her children. She was always welcoming with a smile and an eagerness to provide whatever was needed, a place to stay, food to eat, or a loving embrace. Betty was well known and loved in the community. She will be lovingly remembered for her kindness, compassion, dedication to her home and family, and her beautiful singing voice.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 7, at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, September 8 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1316 St. Paul Rd., of West Salisbury, with Father Robert Keffer. She will then be laid to rest next to her husband of 43 years.
