William A. Lear, 81, of Garrett, went home to be with his Lord and reunited with his beloved wife Jacqueline on July 23, 2012 at In Touch Hospice House, Somerset. Born December 27, 1930 in Confluence, the son of the late Ralph C. and Lulu L. (Umbel) Lear.
Survived by his four children: Yvonne D., wife of Vaughn Hay, and Teresa L. wife of James Snyder, all of Garrett; Dana L. wife of Mel Hetz II, and Michael S. Lear and wife Karen, all of Meyersdale;
Grandchildren: Matt Hay and wife Jen, Amy Kelly, Adam Snyder, Nicole Walters and husband Brad, Justin Platt, Sidney, Madison, and Lakyn Lear;
great grandchildren: Cassie and Ashton Kelly, Dylan and Alex Hay, and Leahana Walters.
Also survived by sister, Zaloma Blubaugh, Ursina.
Bill worked construction as a cement finisher. He was also employed for 17 years until his retirement from Rockwood Casualty Insurance Company as an Assistant Mining Division Manager.
He was a member of Center Church, Garrett and attended Pearls of Wisdom Class at the Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church.
Bill enjoyed feeding and watching wildlife around his house.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Randy Haulk and Rev. Terry Reese officiating. Interment Center Church Cemetery.
