Willard Dean “Sock” Baughman, 68, of Meyersdale, died February 5, 2017 at home. Born March 12, 1948 in Meyersdale, the son of the late Walter Franklin Baughman and Margaret (Hampe) Baughman, of Somerset.

Also preceded in death by his daughter: Chalyce Yvonne (Baughman) Brock; son-in-law: Brian Todd Hare; and grandson: Blake Anthony Harvey.

Survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Lee (Murray) Baughman; 3 daughters: Lori Lynn (Baughman) Harvey and husband Joseph George Harvey Jr., Meyersdale; Jody Michele (Baughman) Loughner and her husband “Jay” John Thomas Loughner, Parma, OH; Brandy Lee (Baughman) Tipton, and her husband Jason William Tipton, Meyersdale; grandchildren:, Andrew Tyler Harvey, John Timothy “J.T.”, Jacob Willard and Joel Andrew Loughner, Nikole Justine (Brock) Huber and her husband Ryan Timothy, Samantha Lee and Alix Ramona Tipton. He is also survived by his brother: Walter James Baughman, Kennells Mill and sister: Sharon Ann Knopsnyder, Somerset; and his trusty companion of 11 years who slept by his side every night, “Max”.

He is a 1966 graduate of Meyersdale High School. “Sock” was a pillar in the community and a legendary and talented carpenter in Meyersdale. He also was a carpet installer with alongside his daughter, Lori. He was a member of the Meyersdale Moose #76, American Legion Post 112, and the Brooklyn Hunting Camp. “Sock” was a generous, honest, and loyal man who will be deeply missed.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Viewing from 1 p.m. until service is conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Meyersdale Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Eric Shaulis officiating. Interment Meyersdale Area Union Cemetery.
