Thelma May Reich, a devoted and loving wife, mother, and friend to many, 89, of Meyersdale, died August 17, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born September 24, 1925 in Meyersdale, the daughter of William E. and Belle (Spence) Getty. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Philip Beachy Reich; daughter, Christine A. Reich; grandson, Tyler P. Reich; brothers, O.G. Getty and William “Bud” Getty; and sister, Betty Lepley.

Survived by her sons: Michael and Philip; granddaughter: Crystal and husband Bill; and great grandchildren:  Kylee and Logan. Also survived by her devoted nephew: Clinton; close nephews and niece: Philip, Marty, Anne; numerous other nieces and nephews and her dog “Bo”.

Thelma graduated from Memorial School of Nursing, Cumberland, Maryland. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, and as a private duty nurse at Meyersdale Community Hospital. She also worked for Dr. Jeff Irwin, D.D.S.

Thelma was a member of SS Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale, was one of the founding members of the “Card Club”, and a former member of the Meyersdale Hospital Auxiliary for many years.

Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at SS Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale, with Rev. James M. Dugan officiating. Committal SS Philip and James Cemetery.
