Sarah E. “Sally” Tuscano, 87, of Meyersdale, died March 10, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Meyersdale. Born July 13, 1928 in Mt. Savage, MD, the daughter of Joseph N. and Sarah (Miller) Carter. Preceded in death by her parents; husband of 40 years Patrick “Patsy” Tuscano; brothers: John, Tom, and James Carter; sisters: Ann Martirano and Rosemary Shockey.

Sally is survived by children: Lou (Linda) Tuscano, Meyersdale; Patricia “Patty” (Chuck) Barr, Sarasota, FL.; Sue (Richard) Dom, Meyersdale; Nancy (Ken) Rice, Herndon, VA; and Sally Jo Tuscano, Meyersdale; grandchildren; Jennifer Tuscano, Pittsburgh; Laura (Matt) Yutzey, Mt. Airy, MD; Brian Tuscano, Houston, TX; Sue (John) Doran, Egg Harbor Twp., N.J.; Patrick (Nadine) Barr, Williamstown, N.J.; Amy (Chris) Kerns, Riverview, FL; Lisa (Doug) Schafer, Meyersdale; Kevin (Christy) Dom, Cannonsburg; James (Jennifer) Rice, Rancin, WV; and Alicia (Kris) Southwick, Warrenton, VA; great grandchildren: Kate, Teagan, and Hunter Yutzey; Ruby and Rose Doran; Lilly and Peyton Barr; Emily, Trevor, and Ben Kerns; Brady, Morgan, and Ryan Schafer; Haley, Natalie, and Owen Dom; Chloe and Hudson Rice; and Clayton, Emory, and Cyrus Southwick. She is also survived by her brother: Joseph V. Carter, Mt. Savage, MD; sister: Mary Lou Dickel, Mt. Savage, MD; Peggy Whitehead, Zihlman, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sally attended St. Michael’s Catholic School in Mt. Savage, MD and Girls’ Central High School in Cumberland, MD. She worked as a switchboard operator at Allegany Ballistics Lab in Pinto, WV. She and her husband, Patsy, owner and operated Pat’s Tavern in Meyersdale for 26 years, and later she and Patsy served as stewards for Meyersdale Lodge #1951 B.P.O. Elks for 14 years. She also worked for 10 years as a waitress at Hughes’s Restaurant, Meyersdale.

She was a member of SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale, where she served on the finance committee for several years and was a charter member of the Meyersdale Ladies of the Elks organization.

“Mimi,” as she was known by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan and enjoyed watching professional golf on TV. She especially enjoyed visits by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, for whom she always seemed to have some special personalized treat. She proudly displayed pictures of each of them on a shelf in her living room.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale. Funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, Meyersdale. Rev. Daniel O’Neill, celebrant. Committal SS. Philip and James Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her name to SS. Philip and James Catholic Church, High St., Meyersdale, PA 15552. Arrangements by Price Funeral Service, Inc., Meyersdale.
