            Roy W. Murray Sr., 79, a loving husband, father and grandfather, of Meyersdale (Larimer Twp.), died May 1, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born February 19, 1936 in Meyersdale, the son of Irvin and Vera (Petenbrink) Murray.

Preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Maurice Murray, Bernice Brafford, Thelma Bittinger, Dorothy Thompson, Althea “Fern” Sturtz, Karl Murray, and Paul Murray.

Survived by his wife, Bernadette (Carter) Murray; children: Wilma and David Sterbutzel, Roy Jr. and Lisa Murray, Irvin Murray, Sandra and Craig Stofko; grandchildren: Andrea Sterbutzel, Adam and Dennie Sterbutzel, Megan (Murray) and Matthew Runk, Ryan and Ashalynn Murray, Shane Murray, Brendan Murray, Catie and Jenna Stofko; 3 great grandchildren: Cade Sterbutzel, Ellorie Sterbutzel, and Adilynn Murray; sisters: Janet Hochard, Freda Wagoner, Marie Bucy, and Jean Miller. Also survived by sister-in-law: Nancy Murray and numerous nieces and nephews. He worked as a farmer. He also worked for Cumberland Cement and Supply, Redstone Mining, Hoffman Mining. Member of Barrellville Outdoor Club and Kennells Mill Sportsmans Club. He loved spending time with his family and his outdoor hobbies.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Monday and 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Father James Dugan officiating. Interment St. Michael’s Cemetery, Frostburg, Maryland.
