James W. “Chum” Rosenberger, 70, Garrett, went home to be with his heavenly Father on January 13, 2017. He was born February 24, 1946 in Meyersdale, the son of Marshall and Gladys (Miller) Rosenberger.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Robert E. and Charles J. Rosenberger; and sisters: Flora Mae Gary and Cathy M. Rosenberger.
Survived by his wife and best friend of 49 ½ years, the former Betty Shuck; children: Brenda (David) Hay, Garrett; Christina (Tom) Yoder, Rockwood; Jodi (friend Jim), Meyersdale; and James T. (Amanda), Berlin; 7 grandchildren: Josh, Zack (Chelsea), Seth, Kaylan (fiancé Justin Smith), Kelsi, Autumn, and Braxton; 1 great grandchild: Aubree, and unborn baby Yoder. Also survived by his brother, Henry (Delores) Rosenberger, Berlin. He retired from Somerset Boro as a mechanic’s laborer and was a member of St. John’s Church. “Chum” loved camping, fishing, hunting, spending time with his kids, grandkids, and family, attending flea markets, working in his yard and gardening. He was especially proud of his green thumb and the bountiful harvest it provided. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his fur baby “Daisy”.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with Rev Jeri Penrod officiating. Interment St. John’s (Temple) Cemetery.
