Clyde E. Habel, 83, of Meyersdale, died November 2, 2016 at home. Born July 23, 1933, in Sandpatch, the son of John H. and Myrtle G. (Pugh) Habel. Preceded in death by his parents; and grandsons: Jason and Jeremy Speicher.
Survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Wilma Arnold; children: Melanie Speicher and husband Henry, Meyersdale; Mark Habel, Hebron, OH; and Daniel “Boone” Habel, Pocahontas; grandchildren: April Speicher, James Habel, and Benjamin Habel. A brother of: Frances Ravenscroft, Meyersdale; Mary Bergman, Mechanicsburg; Margaret Smith, Monroeville; Frederick Habel and wife Karen, Meyersdale; and Joyce Gordon and husband “Tim”, Meyersdale.
He was a Korean War Army veteran. He was a member of Wills Mountain Church of Christ, Hyndman and the Meyersdale American Legion Post 112. Clyde was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed hunting, and storytelling. He will also be sorely missed by his faithful companion, his dog “Becca”.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Price Funeral Service, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, with Evangelist Leo Lavin III officiating. Interment Grace Cemetery at White Oak. Memorial contributions may be given in his name to In Touch Hospice, 1474 N. Center Ave., PO Box 1173, Somerset, PA 15501.
